Slippery Elm is the inner bark of the Elm tree.
USES:
- Known for relief of inflammation & it’s soothing properties to mucus membranes.
- Slippery Elm is used to relieve gastrointestinal conditions, sore throats, ulcers,(stomach and mouth) & respiratory irritations such as coughs.
- Slippery Elm is often recommended for those suffering malnutrition or taken after a prolonged illness.
Suggested Dosages (Canine / Feline): 1 teaspoon per 10kg of body weight, split between meals if needed. Add a little warm water or goat milk to form a paste or make a porridge. Given with or without food but best given 20 mins before a meal if possible & two hours away from any medication.
Poor eaters can also use Slippery elm to add a little extra nutrition if needed. If over one year of age a little honey can also be used for palatability.
